The Airedale Writers’ Circle (AWC) is a lively writers’ group, founded in 1995 by people with a wide range of backgrounds who share a common interest in writing, be it short stories or poetry. Our monthly meetings, held in central Keighley, are open to anyone. If you would like to see what happens at our meetings, they are written up regularly in the Keighley News.
Writing is often likened to a solitary existence, so these meetings allow us to talk to others who know exactly what we are going through.
Past member Eric Brown (science fiction) has been published as has our former chairperson – and past chairperson of the Crime Writers’ Association – the late Lesley Horton. Poet Patricia Farley has had her work included in various anthologies, as well as making her poetry available through self-publication.
